Fee based Broker vs. Fee free broker – what do you get for your money?

A fee-based broker is a mortgage broker who charges a fee for their services, while a fee-free broker does not.

How much can I borrow?

When working with a fee-based broker, you typically get a more personalised and comprehensive service, as the broker will work closely with you to understand your financial situation and find a mortgage that meets your specific needs. They often have access to a wider range of mortgages from different lenders and can help you navigate the application process.

In contrast, fee-free brokers may have limited access to certain lenders and products and may be unable to provide as much personalized advice. They make their money by receiving commissions from the lenders for every mortgage they help arrange.

When working with a fee-free broker, you may be able to save money on broker fees, but you may not have access to the same level of service and advice as you would with a fee-based broker. It is important to consider what you value most in a broker, whether it is cost or access to a wide range of products and personalized service. It is also recommended to shop around and compare different options before making a decision.
